My shortwave radio receiver is a Grundig Satellit 800 and the current antenna is a 16 foot length wire thumb tacked to the wall in my second floor apartment. I will keep adding to this list as I hear more stations. Unless otherwise noted, these stations are broadcasting in the English language at the times indicated. I have restarted this log commencing on February 3rd, 2008.</span><br /><br />0000 - 0100 UTC<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Radio Netherlands</span> with programming originating from Hilversum, Holland heard on 6.165 Mhz on February 8th, 2008 from 00:00 to 01:57 UTC ( 17:00 to 17:57 MST) from one of their 250 KW shortwave relay transmitters located in The Dutch Caribbean Island of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles which is located 50 miles north off the coast of Venezuela and 30 miles from Curacao, Venezuela.<span style=""> </span>The signal averaged from from S-7 to S-9 plus. They were broadcasting a news program till 00:30 UTC, then aired a commentary show called Network Europe.<br /><br />0100 - 0200 UTC<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">China Radio International </span><span>with programming originating from Beijing, China </span><span style="font-weight: bold;"> </span>on 6.005 Mhz heard on February 4th, 2008 broadcasting in English with a signal averaging between an S-6 to an S-9. I listened to the station from 18:00 to 19:57 MST. (O1:00 - 01:57 UTC) They signed off at 01:57 UTC. According to some sources, this particular broadcast comes from a shortwave relay transmitter (CKCX) that is located a few miles East of Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada.<br /><br /><br />0200 - 0300 UTC<br /><br />0300 - 0400 UTC<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">China Radio International </span>on 9.790 Mhz with an S-9 signal heard on February 3, 2008. News and commentaries in English from the Peoples Republic of China. I tuned in between 20:00 and 20:30 MST (03:00 to 03:30 UTC) According to different sources, this broadcast is actually being relayed from a transmitter located near Havana, Cuba.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Radio Havana</span>, Cuba on 6.180 Mhz with an S-9 signal heard on February 3, 2008. I tuned in between 20:00 to 20:30 MST (03:00 - 03:30 UTC) The broadcast was in English with news and commentaries.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">WEWN</span> (EWTN Global Catholic Radio) on 5.810 Mhz with a S-9 signal heard on February 3, 2008. I tuned in between 20:30 and 21:00 MST Time. (03:30 - 04:00 UTC) Religious Catholic programming. The WEWN transmitters are located in Irondale, Alabama on the outskirts of Birmingham and they run a power level of 500 KW.<br /><br />0500 - 0600 UTC<br /><br />0700 - 0800 UTC<br /><br />0800 - 0900 UTC<br /><br />0900 - 1000 UTC<br /><br />1000 - 1100 UTC<br /><br />1100 - 1200 UTC<br /><br />1200 - 1300 UTC<br /><br />1300 - 1400 UTC<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Radio Australia</span> on 9.580 Mhz with an S-8 to S-9 signal on February 4th, 2008 between 0600 amd 0700 MST in the morning my time. (1300 - 1400 UTC). News and commentary program.
